Forest striker Chris Wood is aiming to maintain his goal-scoring form in order to challenge Erling Haaland for the top scorer spot. Wood scored twice in Forest’s 3-1 win at Leicester City last time out to take his Premier League tally to seven this season. One behind Man City striker Erling Haaland, who has scored 10.
The New Zealand international striker has opened up about his goals: “I just want to score as many goals as I can. He (Haaland) is very difficult to beat. UFABET
“He’s a tough guy to keep up with and he’s got another 30 goals to his name this season.”
Chris Wood also credited the City striker with helping to revive the trend of big strikers. And he himself has benefited from the opportunity to play more and has successfully regained his form.
“We’re trying to bring back that popularity, or I’ll be out of work. There was a time when small strikers with a lot of space were use all the time. But thanks to Erling, he’s brought it back.
Last season he scored three times in 15 games before Nuno arrived. The Portuguese boss replaced Cooper 11 months ago and Wood then netted 11 goals in 16 appearances. And is enjoying life under the former Wolves and Tottenham head coach.
